Growing Human Skin in the Lab

Doctors are now utilizing skin cells from foreskins, as well as those from horses and pig’s bodies to farm skin that can be easily transplanted to patients suffering from disease related skin wounds. The key building block of skin is collagen which the human skin recognizes and attaches itself with miraculous results; Reggie Mckee Reports for Today’s Health Minutes.



New strain of MRSA

It’s referred to as the ‘super bug’; MRSA kills 21,000 people in the US each year and it is thought to be picked up in public places and then spread around hospitals by people acquiring outpatient procedures.  Fortunately this new strain is easier to treat, but still deadly to those with weak immune systems; Melissa Long reports for Today’s Health Minute.



Vaccine Fears and Facts

With winter just around the corner people in the US are taking precautions against the new H1N1 virus; including lining up to receive the new vaccination; but there are still others, 43% in fact who say the don’t trust the new vaccination.  Which is the biggest threat, getting the flu or possible side effects of the new vaccination?



Radiation Overdoses

Cedars Sinai Medical Center has admitted to another major error.  This week it has owned up to overdosing radiation levels given to patients over an eighteen month period, affecting over 206 patients; putting them at high risk of developing cancer later on in life.
